3D Virtual Brand Ambassador

Here is some work in progress on our 3D Augmented Reality Virtual Brand Ambassador. We are thinking about how this would function within an experiential event or trade show. How interesting would it be to interact with a 3D character and have a Photo-Op?

For now its an unbranded lion. What if it was….the Energizer Bunny or the Michelin Man. Perhaps a Victoria Secret Angel but more than likely not Fabio.

As we gear up for our presentation on expanded services, we would love to hear from anyone who is remotely interested in hearing about this technology and becoming an agency partner.

It’s been a while since we got a chance to update our service’s page. As of late we have been honing our skills with the Unity 3D engine and using it in conjunction with various augmented reality SDKs. We feel that with the rapidly improving power of various mobile devices, we will soon see a drastic change in how 3D graphics and renderings are used in both presentation and marketing.

We just put the finishing touches on our latest marker based 3d augmented reality advertising project and thought we would begin to share some of our insights. We are hoping to update our site in the coming weeks with samples and a more in-depth discussion.

So what is augmented reality…really?

In order to talk about Augmented Reality (AR) we must first understand Virtual Reality. Virtual Reality (VR) is a virtual space in which people immerse themselves into an environment that transcends the bounds of physical reality. In virtual reality, time, physical laws and material properties may no longer be thought of as real in contrast to the real-world surroundings.

Augmented reality is thought of as an exact opposite concept. The goal of augmented reality is to enhance our existing physical reality with computer-driven overlays.

In a nutshell. We all assumed that by now the world would be taken over by Virtual Reality and would be basking in a virtual sunshine sipping mixed drinks. As it turns out recreating real life is pretty expensive and very difficult to duplicate.

Not only, that it requires you to strap on some pretty uncool goggles. It’s just never gained a wide use in the consumer market, and to this day remains as a specialty tool.

So much for having the company meeting in Bermuda.

Augmented reality, on the other hand, is here to stay. For the past 10 years, its tried to poke its head in and be relevant but there was never enough cost effective computational power to make it a viable solution.

With the abundance of mobile devices, we have finally arrived at something very exciting. What that is, is up to the artist and designers to create and evolve as we try to understand the impact of the technology.

Our latest project with Millipore definitely was meant as a wow factor to activate attendees at a trade-show, but the second phase of this project is delving into a practical sales tool that will be delivered via iOS devices.

Equine Digestion Animation

Working hard to update the website with our equine digestion animation. I will be adding a project we did for Purina Mills that took you on a ride from the mouth the the….well. This was an incredible project to work on and a very interesting subject and application. The final animation was used as a teaching and demonstration tool for their various feed products. Please check back later in the gallery section, where I will go into greater detail and provide more renders and animations of the final product.
